I Love … The Day That, Birth Day Photo

Commemorating my baby’s first day in style …

The Day That Birth Day Photo Gift Baby

August 22nd 2014. In the story of my life, the day I’ll never forget. Our little DamBaby, in a hurry to enter the world, arrived 11 days early and at (fairly) rapid pace. By the time the rest of the world was getting up and thinking about coffee and breakfast, we’d had a baby. Probably the most productive morning ever.

We weren’t the only ones busy that morning. The photographers at ‘The Day That’ were also up, lovingly photographing the sunrise as they do every morning. It being August, blessed with long summer days, that means they’ll have been waking up around 4:00am and making their way to the coast to get the perfect shot. Why, the crazy mad men? You might well ask. Simple: so that photographs of the dawn every day are available for people like me, looking to commemorate very special days. All you have to do is go to their website, go to the day you’re interested in, choose one of the photographs taken that day, then pick if and how you’d like that picture framed.

Baby Birth Gift Idea Photograph

I first stumbled across The Day That when looking for a unique christening gift. So, I’m delighted to now have a picture from our DamBaby’s first day to treasure. To be honest, I’m not sure if I actually saw the sky the day she was born, having been cooped up in hospital the whole time. I vaguely recall the sound of rain, confirmed by the photograph showing a mellow summer sun trying valiantly to poke through rolling blue storm clouds. It’s beautiful. Just like my daughter.

Disclosure: I was sent this picture by the lovely folk at The Day That. But I was already a fan. Words, pictures etc all from my own brain.
